Blues & Greens Records is Lizz Wright’s new label.

Blue and Greens is designed to forge a model of business in music where artists are positioned to build more sustainable and wholesome careers.

Holding Space is Lizz’s first recording to be released on her new label. Holding Space is a live recording from a 2018 show in Berlin where Lizz and the band were closing a summer tour. The show was recorded at the sound board in the center of the audience by Christian Ulbrich, Lizz’s touring engineer and manager. The spirit and events of this particular Berlin show captured Lizz’s attention as she was listening back through live material during the start of the 2020 lockdowns that resulted from the Covid-19 outbreak.

In a short film she openly reflects with her band mates about what it actually feels like to have the presence of a listening world in her life as a human being.

The stories of artists are often told by their critics and fans. Holding Space is an experience of an artist tenderly sharing her narrative with her audience from the same creative and sacred space that the music springs from.

The mission of Blues & Greens is to restore the basic humanity in the music business with wellness, and sustainable and sound business practices at the forefront. Blues & Greens artists will own their masters, creative works, and images. A vault of assets will be bestowed to artists with all rights under their own names. Artists will design and captain their unique narratives and work with industry leading publicity and marketing experts to share these stories with the media.
